"Love has its place, as does hate. Peace has its place, as does war. Mercy has its place, as do cruelty and revenge."
-- Meir Kahane

Art Stuff Corel Painter, Acrylic tools. This seems to be my most comfortable software artmaking tool. The layers and opacity control let me do the glazing technique of my pre-digital days. The HoliDaze season cramped into my IF time. (Let's see, spend forever on free art OR keep my job and shop for my 5-year-old ...). A search for wrapping paper turned up my old sketchbooks. The 1995 brush-and-ink drawings were looser, bolder and a lot more fun. These two elements (no time and old sketchbooks) contributed to this week's "if it ain't rough, it ain't right" look. Lemme know your thoughts.

IF Observation So far, my most political or smutty works got the most comments (KKK=9, Sexy Robot=9, Sexy Woman in Crackhouse=12, CEO with Arrow through Head=8, etc.) Meanwhile, the most wholesome, G-Rated entry on the site drew only 2 comments (and one of those was rigged). What does this say about us iFridaynistas?

Comments So Far ...

Like the painterly style...the guy kinda reminds me of one Chris Rock...as far as what gets the most comments...on YouDraw it was always nudie pics and feet...I tried to pull people into the Lemur fray but weren't budging... Permanent Link

It appears that Nike isn’t quite finished with the Kobe 11 just yet. Today we get a first look at the Kobe 11 ALT, which features the Nike Air Max Outlet Kobe 11 soles and an upper bootie shroud with asymmetrical zippers. Beneath the shroud is the Kobe 11 Elite body with a multi-color Flyknit upper. Release info Nike Shoes hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but expect a release soon.
The big news week (outside of the political circles) is the opening of Nike’s new five-story retail Nike Air More Uptempo location at the heart of NYC’s SOHO district. Located on 529 Broadway at the corner of Spring St., this new shopping experience is digitally connected from head Nike Air Yeezy 2 to toe and offers up everything you expect from a classic “NikeTown”, but with the latest and greatest in sportswear. To celebrate the launch, Nike will release an Nike Janoski exclusive Air Force 1 Low “NYC”; it features the iconic white base with a NY-friendly combo of orange and blue on the Swoosh, NYC logos on the Nike Outlet tongue and heel, and on the AIR stripe on the midsole. The store will be open to the public on Friday at 10 AM; read here for Nike Air Max full release and restock information for the store.
Nike Brazil is planning a major restock for November 26th, the day after Black Friday, so does this mean Nike Flyknit Racer that we’re in for another surprise from Nike.com and Nike SNKRS here in the states? All signs are pointing to the affirmative as Nike Brazil is restocking Nike Store a random assortment of the year’s past releases highlighted by the Air Jordan 11 Low “Metallic Gold”. The eclectic release slate also features the HTM collaborative efforts Curry Shoes of the Air Max LD-Zero, The Air Max 90 Superfly, and Air Max Ultra. The real story here is that rumors are swirling about the availability of Nike Huarache Permanent Link

What the Heck is Illustration Friday?

Think of it as a voluntary, client-free playground for illustrators. A topic is posted every Friday morning. Participants from around the world create, post and share their interpretations.

No Client? Why Bother?

At this stage of my career, I need a weekly public exercise to draw anything at all.

Mission Statement
